A New Chapter in Hemet Hospice Volunteers’ Legacy of Compassion

Hemet Hospice Volunteers was founded in 1979 by a group of compassionate community leaders who shared a vision of providing comfort, dignity and support to terminally ill patients and their families. From the very beginning, the mission has been to provide resources that address the special needs of hospice patients, their loved ones, and those grieving by offering love, dignity, and compassion. Since partnering with VNAcare in 2013, Hemet Hospice Volunteers has continued this mission for more than four decades.

Throughout the years, Hemet Hospice Volunteers has provided supportive services beyond what insurance typically covers, including caregiver support, respite care, bereavement counseling, grief support groups, youth bereavement programs, and children’s grief camps. These programs have brought comfort, hope, and healing to countless families facing loss.

For 46 years, Hemet Hospice Volunteers has been privileged to walk alongside families during some of life’s most meaningful moments. We are deeply grateful to the volunteers, donors, community partners, and friends whose generosity and unwavering commitment made this work possible.

Continuing Our Mission Through VNAcare

In June 2026, Hemet Hospice Volunteers officially merged with VNAcare, marking a new chapter in our shared commitment to provide compassionate care.

Founded in 1952 as a Visiting Nurse Association, VNAcare is a nonprofit healthcare organization with nearly 75 years of experience serving communities by providing high-quality community-based care. VNAcare’s legacy is built on the belief that individuals facing serious illness deserve the opportunity to live as fully and comfortably as possible, surrounded by the people they love and supported with dignity every step of the way.

Honoring Our Legacy

Although Hemet Hospice Volunteers has merged with VNAcare, its mission and legacy will continue through the Marsha Fox Charitable Care Fund, which continues to provide support for the special needs of patients and their families.

As we begin this new chapter, we reflect with deep gratitude on the lives touched, the comfort provided, and the compassion shared over many decades. While the name has changed, the spirit of care that defined Hemet Hospice Volunteers will continue through VNAcare and the Marsha Fox Charitable Care Fund. To all who walked this journey with us, our volunteers, supporters, and friends, we thank you for helping bring comfort, dignity, and love to so many families in our community. Your impact will remain part of this legacy for years to come.
